Colorado Elite Soccer Club is excited to invite your team to participate in the Rock Cup Soccer Tournament. Come and play in the only tournament in Colorado specifically for U5 to U13 recreational teams.

Team Eligibility:

  • Boys - U5 to U13 Recreational (Includes Cross Quad, Option 1, Inter League and In House recreational teams)
  • Girls - U5 to U13 Recreational (Includes Cross Quad, Option 1, Inter League and In House recreational teams)

 

How to Register:

To register please download the Rock Cup application and either mail it, fax it, email it or walk it into the Colorado Elite Office with payment. Applications without payment are not complete and will not be processed. PAY ON LINE: Credit Card Payment

  • U5 to U8 (3v3) Developmental Teams $180.00
  • U8 to U13 (8v8 or 11v11) Developmental Teams $350.00

Applications will not be processed without the entry fee. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Check-In:

For the date and time of check-in please check the Rock Cup website at www.coloradoelite.com. Each team will need to provide 2 copies of their roster, 2 copies of their guest player roster (if applicable) and show medical release forms for each player.

Fields/Games:

All games are due to be played at one of two complexes Founders Park in Castle Rock or Gates Complex in Englewood. Each team will play a minimum of 3 games.

Format:         

U5 to U8: 3v3             U8 to U10: 8v8           U11 to U13: 11v11

****U8 teams have an option to register for 3v3 or 8v8 format games

Players may only play for one team in the tournament.

 

Player Eligibility
US Youth Soccer Players must be legally registered to US Youth Soccer through their respective State Association in accordance with US Youth Soccer registration requirements. Players may not play for more than one team in the tournament. All players are required to have a signed medical release with their team manager or coach.

Any teams traveling to the tournament from out of the state must have travel papers approved by their state association.

 

Awards:

Teams placing 1st and 2nd will receive individual awards. Tournament division winners will also receive a team trophy.

Rules:

US Youth Soccer, subject to specified modifications. Rules will be posted on website and distributed to teams with acceptance packet.

The Ball

  • U5-U8 Brackets Use a Size 3 Ball
  • U9-U12 Brackets Use a Size 4 Ball
  • U13 Brackets Use a Size 5 Ball

Player’s Equipment

  • Player equipment must conform to FIFA rules. All players will wear shin-guards (under the socks).
  • Teams will wear uniforms of matching design and color with numbers affixed to the back of the uniform shirt. No two players may have identical uniform numbers.
  • In case of similar team colors, the designated home team will be required to change to a color accepted by the referee.
  • The uniform of the goalkeeper must be distinctly different in color from the basic colors of the competing teams.

Duration of the Match

  • U5-U8 3v3 Matches will play 2 x 12 minute halves with a 2 minute half time
  • U8-U10 8v8 Matches will play 2 x 25 minute halves with a 5 minute half time
  • U11-U13 11v11 Matches will play 2 x 30 minute halves with a 5 minute half time

FIFA Penalty Kicks & Kicks from the Mark

For all 8v8 & 11v11 age groups, standard FIFA Penalty Kicks and Kicks from the Mark will apply in those age groups. For 3v3, Penalty Kicks and Kicks from the Mark will be taken from the midfield line with no Goal Keeper.

Schedule
All teams are guaranteed at least three games (weather permitting). Bracket size for each age group will determine format for semi-finals and finals where applicable. Single age brackets will be used where possible. The tournament committee will determine brackets.

  • 4 team bracket – round robin with highest point team as champion
  • 5 team bracket – round robin with highest point team as champion
  • 6 team bracket – Two 3 team groups with championship game
  • 8 team bracket – Two 4 team groups with championship game
  • 10 team bracket – Either two 5 team groups with championship game OR Two 3 team groups and One 4 team group with semis and championship games
  • 12 team bracket – Three 4 team groups with semis and championship games

Determination of Group Winners
In group play, there will be no overtime games. Standings in a group will be determined by:

  • Game Points:
  • Win: 7 points
  • Tie: 3 points
  • Loss: 0 points
  • Goals: 1 Point for each Goal Scored up to 3
  • Shutout: 1 Point for a Shutout

In the event that two or more teams are tied in points at the end of the preliminary games, the following tie breakers shall be applied in the order given until a winner is determined:

  • Head to Head (if all teams played each other)
  • Goal Differential (maximum of 3 differential per game)
  • Goals Against
  • FIFA Kicks from the Mark

Forfeits
A minimum number of players for each game is listed below. If a team fails to show up with the minimum number of players required at game time then the team will forfeit the match with a 3-0 score. All points will be awarded to the team who was present and ready to play.

Inclement Weather

Regardless of weather conditions (unless for safety reasons), players and coaches must be on the field at the scheduled time, ready to play. In case there is inclement weather or other factor forces the suspension the tournament director has the authority to change the match by either relocating or rescheduling the match, change the duration of any match or cancel any preliminary matches. If inclement weather forces play to be suspended all players, parents, coaches, referees and spectators are required to leave the playing surface and return to the parking lot. A horn will be blown indicating that all play is to be halted. After 1 hour of waiting teams are requested to send one representative to either check the Colorado Elite Website (www.coloradoelite.com), call the field closure line (303-660-0109) or come to the tournament headquarters for the site you are at for the status and procedures for the games. Here are the specific guidelines that maybe followed by the tournament director to determine how matches will be determined.

  • INCLEMENT WEATHER BEFORE THE MATCH – PRELIMINARY ROUNDS; Referees and/or Tournament Committee may reduce the length of the match, and subsequent matches by 50%, however the halves of the match must be of equal duration. If the match is cancelled, the Tournament Committee will award a 0-0 tie.
  • INCLEMENT WEATHER BEFORE THE MATCH – SEMI-FINAL ROUND; If a semi-final match cannot begin, a shootout will take place to determine the winner. If a shootout cannot occur, the match will be decided by the flip of a coin.
  • INCLEMENT WEATHER BEFORE THE MATCH – CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH; If the championship match cannot be played the teams will become Co-Champions. A coin will be flipped to decide who gets the awards. Coin toss winner gets choice of Championship trophy and second place medals or Championship medals. The team that lost the coin toss will get the remaining awards. Both teams will gain the title of tournament Co-Champions.
  • INCLEMENT WEATHER DURING A MATCH – PRELIMINARY; The match will be considered completed and the score will stand if one half has been completed. If less than one half has been completed, a 0-0 tie will be awarded by the Tournament Committee.
  • INCLEMENT WEATHER DURING THE MATCH – SEMI-FINAL ROUND; The match will be considered completed and the score will stand if one half has been completed. If less than one half has been completed, a shootout will determine the winner. If a shootout cannot occur a flip of a coin will determine the winner.
  • INCLEMENT WEATHER DURING A MATCH – CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH; The match will be considered completed and the score will stand if one half has been completed. If less than one half has been completed, the Tournament Committee will award a 0-0 tie and both teams will be deemed Co-Champions. A coin toss winner gets choice of Championship trophy and second place medals or Championship medals. The team that lost the coin toss will get the remaining awards. Both teams will gain the title of tournament Co-Champions
  • The tournament director will make all decisions concerning weather.

Terminated Game
Games terminated for other than inclement weather, i.e. violent or uncontrollable situations will not be replayed.

The decision as to the score of such games and whether teams advance will be made by the Tournament Director after receiving reports from game officials. The decision of the Director will be final and is binding on all parties. Further disciplinary actions may be taken.

Protests
There will be NO PROTESTS. All disputes will be resolved immediately by Tournament Director. These decisions will be final.

Referees:

1 USSF certified official per game, each team will provide an assistant referee (linesman). For championship games all 3 referees will be provided by the tournament. For 3v3 games, 1 referee will be used for all games including championships and will be provided by the tournament.

Credentials:

Teams must provide a club roster signed by your clubs recreational registrar or director. Out of state teams must provide US Youth Soccer travel forms approved by their state associations. All players must have signed, approved medical release forms.

Entry Deadline:        

Friday May 7, 2010. Late registrations may be accepted on a space available basis, so apply early! Checks, money             orders and credit card payments will be deposited upon receipt.

                                   

Confirmation of Acceptance to the Rock Cup Soccer Tournament will be sent to the team contact’s email no later than May 18, 2010. Call if early acceptance is needed to finalize travel arrangements.

                                   

If your team is not accepted, your entry fee will be refunded or credited to your account. Refunds will be mailed back to the team contact.

Disclaimer:

The COLORADO ELITE ROCK CUP, the Tournament Committee, Colorado Youth Soccer and/or the host affiliate will not be responsible for any expense incurred by any team due to the cancellation in part or whole of this tournament.

The tournament committee’s interpretation of the foregoing rules and regulation shall be final and reserves the right to decide on all tournament matters.

If not enough teams are realized within a specific age bracket, the Tournament Director shall notify the participants as soon as possible and the participants given the option to play up (if room is available) or to receive a full refund.

The tournament committee has the responsibility to uphold any previous suspension imposed by Colorado Youth Soccer, US Youth Soccer and/or affiliates of US Soccer; Colorado Elite Rock Cup and/or Colorado Elite are not responsible for the behavior of players, coaches, and spectators off the field, or damages resulting from such behavior. Coaches and players committing breaches of the law may be ejected from the tournament at the discretion of the tournament committee.

Any situation not covered in the above rules will be resolved by the tournament director or their designated representative.
